Online Marketing is not to distant from what we do in the organic world of business. In fact, you should be using most of the methods online as you do off - It’s just that there are technical capabilities to be aware of online which include backlinks etc.

But, what I want to make sure you do is take care of your customers first and think about how to do this technically online once you have this 100% in place.

Are you talking to your customers? When i get orders from customers I also ask many of them why they chose me over all the competition. Most answer, it’s because I kept in touch on a regular basis and offered help and support when ever needed without ever complaining. They even share ideas with me for other products. Nice

Are you saying thanks to your customers? An ideal time is at the end of the year. I do this all the time and sometimes get a thanks back.

Do you ask your customers to pass on your details and website to other friends for discounted ‘mates rates’? This works well if you can sell a product to a friend of a customer for 25% or so less and offer your customer a free product for the help. They do occasionally turn into ongoing affiliates.

Are you being professional or do you get caught up in the slang and jargon of your vertical market? Remember most of your customers are at your site for research so please, don’t use jargon.

Are you focused on the needs of your customers? If you try pushing products to your potential customers which are not relevant to your site then they will leave and unsubscribe.

Do you ask your customers who leave your list what made them leave? Have you offered an incentive to stay. Maybe a sample of your products for free to ensure they know exactly how good you are.

Customers are your income. Without them your website will never be a business. Treat them well and give them what they want and sell them what they need.

Take care and happy hunting
